Super Cruise Comes To Buick
General Motors developed the most technologically advanced driver assistance aid with their wildly popular Super Cruise system. Buick has announced that starting in 2024, the Buick Envision will be able to be optioned with this amazing feature.
Envision Yourself Behind The Wheel
The Envision will be one of the first Buick products that will let its customers option and experience the best hands-free system in Super Cruise, which allows the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel, only needing to perform basic functions, such as using the turn signal stalk in order to tell the system you would like to change lanes. You must keep your eyes on the road ahead, though, as the system will warn you and then disengage if you aren’t paying attention.
Futuristic Advanced Technology Now
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration classifies Super Cruise as a Level 2 autonomous technology. While it is not 100% autonomous, as it still needs the driver to maintain attention with the possibility of re-taking control of the vehicle, it is regarded as the safest and most effective autonomous vehicle system currently on the market. With over 400,000 miles of roads in the United States and Canada where Super Cruise is able to be utilized, you can rest assured that it has been well-tested before any car has been sold to the public.
First becoming an option in 2017 for certain Cadillacs, Super Cruise will be available on 22 different vehicles produced by General Motors.
An Excellent SUV
For 2024 the Buick Envision features a 2.0-liter Turbocharged Inline-4 that produces 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, it is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and comes standard with Front-wheel drive or All-wheel drive as an option. With the rear seats upright, you have 25.2 cu.ft. of cargo space, and with them folded, you get a total of 52.7 cu.ft.
Usability & Safety
Going along with Super Cruise, the Envision has good technology with standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto through either the standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, or an optional 10.2-inch system. LED headlights and taillights come standard, as does Buick Driver Confidence, with features front pedestrian braking, lane-keep assist with lane-departure warning, forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, following distance indicator, and IntelliBeam auto high beams.
