It’s no secret that electric vehicles are the future of the automotive industry. In fact, it might just be the present too, as more and more are getting released each and every year. GMC has already unveiled a couple of electric vehicles and Buick is sure to follow suit shortly, along with more being introduced from GMC as well. Types of Charging Stations

Naturally, there are public charging stations at which you can make sure your vehicle is topped up when you’re on the go and so on. But you’re going to want to be able to charge your vehicle at home as well, and as long as you have a standard wall socket somewhere that the charging cable that comes with your vehicle can plug in, you’ll be fine. However, you can also spring for a home charging station, of which there are several benefits.

The basic way we described already is called a Level 1 Charging Station, but a Level 2 Charging Station is probably what you’re going to want. These units utilize 240-volt circuits, unlike the traditional 120v associated with the aforementioned station. These are the same kind of outlets utilized for appliances like your clothes dryer, so you can technically use one of those if you wish, but you’d be better off paying an electrician to run a new 240v circuit to your garage. The benefits of this improved station is greater power, which means getting more mileage out of your electric vehicle in less time on the plug.
